We are, as the name suggests, the Mountaineering Club, which means we are solely interested in the pursuit of all the various elements that make up the great sport of mountaineering. In our midst you will find a diverse range of athletes, from hygienically challenged snow and ice specialists to the power obsessed pull-up merchants of the sport climbing world. But regardless of your orientation, the aim of this club is to have fun on snow, ice, rock and even plastic.
We meet in Beit Quad at 12 every Wednesday to head to the Westway Centre
. Only a short bus ride away. You'll only need a few quid for entry and shoe hire, we provide the rest.
We organise regular trips around the country to climbing havens such as Stanage Edge, Pembroke and Swanage. If conditions are right, some frenzied ice-climbing will occur.
There are also tours during the Winter, Easter and Summer to more exotic locations. Recent tours have been to Scotland, Majorca and Kalymnos.
