Staff Seminar Series - Dr Maarten van Reeuwijk
Posted on by Xing Huang
We're happy to announce the topic of Dr Maarten van Reeuwijk's SSS talk! Here is the full abstract:
Going round in circles
Although in our culture it is not considered a desirable state to be in, I hope to convince you that Nature is very fond of going round in circles. In this seminar, I will give several examples and discuss how these “circles” are important in the atmosphere, ocean and the built environment. I will explain how supercomputing can help in cracking some of the codes that these circles create, using examples from recent work carried out in my research group related to the performance of green roofs and turbulent jets and plumes.
