Welcome to icsf: Social!

...although the main focus of the society is the library, the social side of the society is particularly active. There are weekly barnights, organised events and trips, and the general camaraderie found among like-minded people...

Hello and welcome to the social section of the icsf Website! First things first, if you are looking for library information (where can I find it? how do I join? etc), or for the society history and archives, then please swap over to the library section! This is the social section, where you will find everything concerning our members, events that we run and news about science fiction and fantasy in the rest of the world. Registering will give you your very own bio page and greater access to posting on the news board, commenting on stuff, requesting items for the library and lots of other exciting stuff. Don't be shy!

Events

Society events range from sitting in the library at lunchtime watching videos, to barnights, cinema trips and our annual convention. We've got lists of upcoming events, reviews of previous things and many photos for you to peruse. Of particular note is our once-a-year convention 'Picocon' where we fill the Union with computers, books, authors and total random chaos.

Come on join us! Resistance is futile..

 End of the world

 World's End pub, Camden - 11.11 on Friday, 21st December 2012

End of the World, according to the Mayans. We'll meet the day before (in the evening, around 17.00) in the World's End pub in Camden, to go down with style.

People

When fluff attacks!

The balance of the society is well reflected in the main sections of the menu. Most important to the society are of course the people involved. The people you are most likely to come across at events and in the library are the committee, the group of people responsible for organising the society. The committee page has a brief rundown of what the posts do and who holds them. There are also links to biography pages - one page per person written (usually) by the person in question with pictures and photos. We also have biographies for current active members and alumni, slightly more vintage members who nevertheless can often be found at barnights and events.

Please drop in on our IRC chat channel, there's usually a few committee, actives and alumni loitering, we'll try not to be too scary and would love to chat to you.
