Alumni (lost to the Shadowlands)

Adam and Beth at Back, from Left Martin, Bob, Michael, Michelle, Alan, Lorna, Phil, Robin, Billy at Adam and Beth's wedding

..there are a huge number of ex-committee members, lingerers and alumni that offer comments of the nature of 'in my day...' and 'when I was chair..' at every available opportunity. Here are some of the people you may meet if you come along to 'Ton meets, barnights or Picocon...

ICSF is a highly social society, with many of its members sharing flats and good times! We also like to keep in touch with ex members - many of whom are very involved with SF fandom. It should be noted that a surprisng number of people return to ICSF despite many years away...

If you would like to be added, please fill out the Form

The quiet booky one that sits in the corner and sketches things. Has an evil twin that cooks up schemes and talks people into helping.

ICSF!

Billy was a member 1996-2000 and was secretary for the 96/7 year. An enthusiastic member of the impressive icsf Boat Race Team for 96.

Eemeli Aro has remained true to his Finnish roots (namely the bit about Finns being silent) and has failed to submit a bio for 3 years running. (and proud of it! -ed.) This bio is therefore the work of better, smarter, and more devoted creatures.

Adam was a society member between 1997-2000 and held the posts of Vice Chair Thing and Treasurer and too many posts in other societies to possibly mention.

Another silent Finn.

A member of the society for several years, she's been dragged all the way in, possibly due to sharing a flat with Ed and Lloyd, poor girl. Also known as lyra, Jo and Mrs Spiros.

A member from 1998 and Vice Chair Thing in 99-2000 after which he graduated from Chemical Engineering and went out into the real world "up north" but has now headed back down to Aylesbury.

ICSF Vice Chairman (1988-9) and one of a very select group of female ex-chairs (1989-90).

I did most of the illustration on 'The Waking Edge' zine which I regret. I was was nominated scapegoat by Dave Clements on several occasionas with associated custard pies.

The icsf librarian in 1980 and apparent Pokemon hater.

aka Sagittarius

A chair elect now working as a filthy pro on magazines such as sfx and Starburst.

I'm tom, hello.

I am 2nd year student in Mahtematics department, I am very interested in MTG card game, And wish to make more friends and play together

Antony can rarely be found hiding in the library, usually on tuesday evenings when magic is played. He can be known to venture out on other occasions, however.

Ex-committee, still around occasionally
Simon is a PhD student in the photonics group of physics doing stuff with optics. A past society treasurer and icsf flat resident.

Alex is a third year physicist who's been the society editor for a couple of years, attempting to being culture to the masses and origami x-wings to the rest of us.

A Physicist and Furry, and avidly lazy member. He may be pretty, but don't let his cute outer exterior fool you - he's very dangerous! He'll tear your lungs out as soon as look at you... Honest! >^..^

Generic icsf member who spends too much time at iCU Cinema.

Random American Girl who showed up in 1992 for a few months.

Our token American and as such tends to be teased something rotten. Although no longer a student at IC he comes running at the sound of Magic cards being shuffled..

"Who am I? Can I conceal myself forever more? Pretend I'm not the man I was before? And must my name until I die be no more than an alibi, must I lie? How can I ever face my fellow men? How can I ever face myself again? My soul belongs to God I know I made that bargain long ago he gave me hope when hope was gone, he gave me strength to journey on. Who am I? Who am I? I'm a walking soundtrack.

I was once many things.
Lloyd was a society member between 1996 and 2002 and held the posts of treasurer, editor and hack in residence during his time with us (o and publicity office, and..) He's currently at Caltech working on Number Theory and lecturing Americans. Don't know who to feel sorry for really.

John has been associated with ICSF since 1997, despite never actually attending Imperial College as a student! He's currently one of our unfortunate members who has to actually work for a living... but has plans...

Duncan is currently a student at Imperial College in thu sprawling city of London. During his spare time, he enjoys hanging out with friends, talking on the phone, or writing a short story on wherever his imagination takes him. Usually endulging himself in either a bit too much science fiction or fantasy, there are always a number of plot ideas spinning in his head. Also roleplays and runs games at conventions.

Jacob is a very rare being - a biologist! He took on the role of Chair of Vice last year with particular glee. Very worrying.

Peter's just graduated from Physics and can now devote himself to playing with computers and code full time. He frequently goes by the nickname of Muppet... doesn't exactly inspire confidence does it?

Panic!

i am me - me i am - am i me ?
Phil's a PhD computer scientist who's been here since the last ice age. He'll be the yeti sat in the library ranting about something or grinning aimlessly.

Shuri was once ICSF's resident Canadian-Finnish cub mathematician, but has finally escaped Imperial's clutches.

ex chair and random who plays drums does physics
Richard's doing a physics PhD with something probably involving high speed whizzy things that explode. He's responsible for the icsf daleks and many of our other more random plans over the last few years.

ExNearlyChair
Member during year starting 1996 and was briefly chair in 97. A superb Games Master who's recently returned to London and hopefully to the icsf fold.

Ex-chair and secretary, managed to leave IC after many years, but didn't go very far. Occasionally spotted in the library, often attends events and almost permanently on irc.

A little gold&blue dragon of non-student proportions, the Farli variety of this mythical creature is unlikely to be seen poking her nose in the library (due to a lack of lunch time, and a security swipe card that doesn't let her in the building). Can be often heard muttering against the evils of HoR data connections..

Chair 1986-1987, Treasurer the year before that. Now doing AI and robotics for a Biotech company in Edinburgh.

am or was the Projectionist... The guy who had 5 membership cards. Mathmatician

Started as the most absurdly pissed fresher ever seen, and continued that way for 4 years.
Currently developing work-force management systems in Staines. Aiii.

the infamous bob
Was at IC from 1996-99 studying physics and still loiters around the bar. Was publicity officer, treasurer and RCSU VP in his time.

A PG Organic Chemist, ex-chairentity and part time canal restorer

Longtime member/ex comittee member and PhD chemist
A past librarian who has read even more than Lloyd has (!) and can occasionally be deadly with a sarcastic quip! You've been warned.

Ex-ChairEntity, probably 1987-1988; Sofa for Picocon 6, (maybe); ex-Treasurer, various years; at IC 1985-1991.
