Nicholas Royle
Born in Sale in south Manchester in 1963, Nicholas Royle's first novel, Counterparts, was published by Barrington Books in 1993 and later by Penguin. An American edition is due from White Wolf in February 1996. His first major short story sale was to Dennis Etchison's Cutting Edge in 1986 and his stories have since sold consistently to anthologies and magazines in the UK, the US, Australia and France, including, Interzone, Dark Fantasies, Dark Voices, Twist in the Tale, Best New Horror, Book of the Dead, Obsessions, Dark Voices, The Year's Best Horror Stories, and Fiction Magazine. In total he has sold around 90 short stories (a collection is forthcoming in the US from White Wolf) and his reviews have appeared in the Guardian, the Times, the Independent on Sunday, Time Out and other magazines. He lives in north London and plays in goal for a Sunday-league football team. Bibliography
